Postby Pascal » Wed Sep 27, 2017 3:39 pm

Hi everyone,

We are coming to Quesada next week for about 2 months and we are looking for a wifi provider
I already searched the web but didn't find anything helpful
Can anyone tell us how to get wifi for this 2 month period ?
Thanks

I agree, DVBLAB if you want a switch on/off service

Is it your own home and you are just there for 2 months at one go? Or are you just coming over and renting somewhere for 2 months?
Lots of companies do the switch on/switch off bit. DVBLab will charge about 100 euro to set it up and then you can email them when you want it on or off if it's your own home at around 20 euro a month (probably a bit lower, we pay 25 for internet and phone). Bit slow, though (I use it but gets a bit frustrating at times).
If a rental then get a pay as you go Dongle. If you go to the Orange or Vodaphone shops they will give you the one best for the area (they have a map showing 2G, 3G, 4G coverage etc).
You can also bring one from UK as roaming charges no longer apply.

We are renting this villa for 2 months now but we are looking to buy a property in that area
So for the moment a dongle would do fine I guess
I have a Belgian dongle but I don't know if the settings from this dongle will be competitive with the Spanish dongles

Then you wouldn't want to go through the expense of setting up and signing a contract with an internet company, then.
A dongle is a dongle is a dongle. The Belgian one should be fine.
And I thought that all legal rentals nowadays had to provide internet access.

I am not sure, but I suggest you check with your service provider for the charges. Might be very expensive? When we were only taking short breaks here, we used the free wifi offered by most bars, restaurants and coffee shops. Maybe using the dongle at home when you have to, and the free wifi elsewhere might be the most cost effective solution?
