Hello from a cold and wet England

Before anybody asks my user name is a nick name given to me which years ago. Me and she who must be obeyed are planning to start serious house hunting in the new year with a view to using it as a holiday home/bolt hole until we can fully retire in a few years time and start to enjoy the life which most of you currently do. No doubt we will have lot's of questions so will be calling on you lucky people on the ground for advise as a search of the internet returns thousands of different conflicting answers mostly from people who have never even left the country.

Hello from sunny Spain (but it's a little bit cold). My husband and I moved over to Spain at the beginning of August, after deciding we had enough of work and selling our UK house. We initially rented in Algorfa whilst we did our house hunting and then moved into our home in Quesada in November.
For our house search we were asisted by a guy called Andy from Home Espania (worked in the La Zenia office). He spent days with us showing us around all of southern costa blanca and kept going until we had found our perfect house. We used Sun Lawyers to cover the legal side.
We have no regrets about the move at all, also glad that we chose Quesada as it suited us the most (lots of nationalities, not too British like some urbs and has all ages; we are younger than most retirees).
