We live in London (W10) most of the time,
Pete.

Interesting, I know W10 well. I worked for RBKC for 28 years before retiring in May.

We’re up near St. Charles, in the poor end the borough!
Sounds like you retired at exactly the right time, just before Grenfell.

Pete.

Just to pick up on Recorral, we live in that area and love it, we have two large dogs so being close to the park is a real advantage. The golf course is walkable (about 15 mins, but is up hill coming back so not ideal. Its about a 25 min walk to the centre of Quesada, which we quite enjoy, but sometimes we get a cab (just 10 Euro each way). There is also a clutch of bars about 15 mins (flat walk) on Naciones - Da Dilvas (very nice place), Lovely spanish Tapas place, Italian, Chinese, and a few others. Its a lovely area and nice and quiet. Downside is not really any supermarkets within walking, but generally if your shopping you would be in the car anyway so not really an issue. Happy house hunting. Not sure which estate agents you are using, but they are not all equal! When we were looking we were taken to one of the White Box Villas despite making it clear we were not interested, wasted a full half a day being told why we should buy it - that was our last viewing with that particular agent!

Thanks for the info Russ. My missus is in love with the house opposite the Recorral so that's a firm favourite at the moment. My impression was that it is very isolated up there but maybe that's no bad thing. We do have a car so would not be stuck. I know what you mean about the white boxes, they don't appeal to me. So far our experiences with agents have been mostly positive.
