Hi, try Maggie at Hopeproperties on 0034 966731115 or 0034 966718311. They offer rentals on a number of properties.

Why on earth would anyone say their budget?

I have always been suspect of anyone who asks me my budget. Everything has a price so why not give the price and negotiate from there.

Could it be that a property may be priced at €450 a month and then a renter says their budget is €550 a month ....hey presto, the property happens to be €550 a month.

Sorry to be cynical but I have viewed cars etc, where on asking the price the dealer says what is your budget and I always say...just give me the price and we will see!

Why on earth would anyone ask for rentals without stating a budget.

There is nothing dodgy or suspicious about me nor am I a car salesman but even if I was I don't think it unreasonable to ask the question. What is the point of me showing you cars you can't afford.

I asked because I may be willing to rent out a property but don't want to waste anyone's time if they can't/won't pay the rent that I am considering.

Opinions are good, you are entitled to your opinion, but sometimes public forums are not the place to air them. An answer to the question would suffice thank you.

So you are "Thebridges" now! 'Nothing dodgy or suspicious' (in your own words!) about having two accounts on the forum then!

When someone asks for a 2/3 bed property with a pool, there is an idea there as to what they may expect to pay, as most prospective renters know or are no doubt sensible enough to check property websites for average prices before deciding to rent.

Also opinions are allowed on this forum, unless they are hurtful or abusive. Thank you.

I don't have two accounts. My OH has one and I have one, so nothing Dodgy at all.

I think we will leave it at that for now.
