Lorna...go with your heart. We did. Yes, the pylon is there, but wait till you see the fabulous sunsets over the mountains. I understand some of the previous comments, but there's only so much doom and gloom I can cope with!!

Hi LornaG,
From the little I know on the subject you have to be under the pylons to make any risk....your plot is not so rest assured,
you have a nice corner plot is a great area...you will be fine.

LornaG I love living here and so will you too I'm sure. If the pylons are coming down in two years there will be paperwork. This sort of massive operation needs planning. Just ask to see the paperwork. Easy! If the salesperson can show you then great, if not they're lying to you. How can you spend all your cash with a liar? I hope you have an independent lawyer too, if not it will be money well spent to get one, safeguard your money and build with or without pylons!
Adios and good luck

I am really sorry to be negative on this forum, which is such a fantastic and positive source of information and I always try to be constructive in my advice in every post, but I have to be honest here and I cannot just sit back when people are risking their health and financial futures.
Spain is great and this area is a fantastic place to live, but you have so many purchase options these days that there is no need to pick one which is risky in any way at all. Risky to your health because all you need to do is search online to get a huge amount of information about these towers and how they cause mental and physical illness if you live near them (not just under them). Risky financially because builders construct within the guidelines regarding danger of electricity "jumping" from the cables to s property, but do not take into account the EMF or electro magnetic fields which these towers produce and which it is known cause cancer, mental issues and other illnesses. In other countries this is now being addressed, like in Holland, where the government is buying and demolishing houses close to towers and cables and elsewhere, where guidance gives "distances of security". This will in the future make any development really close to the towers near worthless.
There are builders and plots in the area that do not have this issue and you could buy there without any of these risks, still having all the same positives without the huge drawbacks. Any builder who tells you the towers are coming down is lying. They're not.. Ask them for paperwork. Ask the town hall. Ask the good people on this forum. They will all tell you the opposite of what the builder has said.
The land in this area used to have a big for sale sign from the bank because it was repossessed land. This builder bought it cheap no doubt because no one else wanted it. Now they're selling it using lies about towers coming down? Everyone in this area was told the same years ago, by the same builder and nothing has happened, but at least they don't live as close as these new houses will be to the towers.
Why do you think the first houses sold on this development were in the opposite corner from the largest tower? Because EVERYONE is frightened of the cables and what they will do to their health and wallets.
So again, sorry to be negative, but if you are not totally financially committed to a property here, think again and get out. Find another plot or house in the area. Ask on here and you'll get lots of help with who to speak to or where to look. But please think again. It's not worth potentially losing your health or facing financial ruin..

(Pylons apart) My wife and I had a villa built having been introduced to Activa by the excellent Masa; choosing a lovely plot and villa design. Completed in June 2015, we spent the previous six months renting in Quesada; long term rentals are very affordable. Would recommend this should you have the opportunity. It enabled us to track progress on the villa which was very worthwhile rather than relying on photos. It gave us freedom to attend official meeting with the lawyers (abogadas), bank, etc at whim. Also, we visited the numerous furniture shops, lighting shops and garden centres, so that once we had a keys' handover date we could order what we had already decided on as well as arranging delivery of our UK possessions from storage. A lot less stressful than trying to do everything from the UK. A year on, just loving it here (in Pueblo Bravo).
