Spanish help
Spanish help
by BelenG » Thu Sep 28, 2017 8:18 am
Good morning,
My name is Belén. I am a Spaniard in love with the English language.
This year I am preparing some English exams and as I have too much free time I thought about the possibility of helping English speakers with daily issues with Spanish bureaucracy
So if you need help with anything even some company please contact me
No charge, just the pleasure of speaking English
Thank u

I would be interested in this also. We are over for 2 months from October to December and then again from February to April and I cant find anywhere that caters for that, only courses which run for certain lengths of time. We speak virtually zero Spanish.

Just to flag that you can get one to one tuition at the Berlingua language school ( beside Coopers in Dona Pepa) - you can buy a 'block' of 8 one hour sessions and arrange them for times to suit. Relatively expensive ( though cheaper than one to one tuition in the UK ) but may be a good way to jump start your Spanish. I have been going sporadically for conversation sessions ( intermediate level) as it can be a wee bit hard in the Quesada area to get a lot of day to day spanish practice as so many people in shops, restaurants etc speak English ! They also do a Friday lunchtime group conversation top up for people taking lessons with them though I have never managed to make that ( hope to do so this winter...)

Also ( Apologies to Belén for slightly hijacking her post - Belen I too would be interested in some language intercambio... ) if your schedule is really busy and makes it difficult to make regular classes either here or in the UK - this distance learning course at Dundee Uni is very good to get you going. Runs every January with weekly skype sessions. https://www.dundee.ac.uk/study/short/sp ... elearning/
I did it last year and it helped a lot - though it is intensive and you do need to commit to doing the homework!

Thanks Shiva. I have had a quick look at Berlingua and it works out really expensive for two of us, as you say though probably cheaper than the UK. I am hoping we might be able to find someone locally who does private tuition but I have no idea what kind of charges we would be talking about. The other alternative of course is to continue with the online courses.
