selling items then not answering queries

I wonder with some things though...

On a few occasions recently, I've noticed that a post has gone up about a specific item (I've got a feeling that a butane bottle was one example), and about a minute later, someone has put a post up asking for that exact same item...!

I did Jan and I we tried emailing each other and it did not solve anything. I received your emails but still no notifications.I know if I access the forum I can see that I have a pm but I am not receiving notifications that I have had a response to my items that are listed. I do not know what else to do other than check each item as much as I can.

Do you click 'send me a notification ' on your topic? I know you may be but just a thought as some members don't realise that they have to opt in to get an rmail notifying them of answers on their topic.

Yes I do Jan. I am not trying to say this is a fault of anyone or the forum but I do understand the way the system works on this forum. It is just that I am not receiving notification and have never done. I try and check often so I do not appear rude and luckily I have the time to do this. I have received pm's and replied to them via the forum so I know they work I just do not receive an email to say I have a response or message.

I think the system works good, but if I would make a change it would be to have the email notification on by default. That way not fuss. Don't really understand why there are PM's and email? Once someone is on the Internet then it is just as fast to answer email as it is to answer a PM. But all in all it works good. Thank you to Jan.

We have bought and sold a few things on the forum and it's been great. However we've also advertised a few things and had our fair share of idiots / deluded dreamers - but that's life. It's a great forum but we have to accept the muppets who live in dreamland / bored and nothing to do land !!
