i will ask at my local chemist but this is not just an oxygen cylinder this is a machine that would be hand luggage size that you would fit a mask on they retail anywhere from 600 euros to thousands. The private clinic in the uk says it needs to be 95/98% pure oxygen for medical purposes. Thank you for your reply.

As well as knowing the purity of the oxygen, you also need to know the flow rate needed (in litres per minute) and the expected duty cycle (how many hours per day, and how many consecutive hours it will need to be used).
Also, bear in mind that most people with problems suc as COPD will tend to deteriorate over time and require a greater flow rate for longer durations. Rather than buying a machine that justs meets the minimum criteria at this stage, only to have to buy a bigger/better one in 12 months time, it may be better to spend more and have some built-in future proofing.

There are machines available to buy on Amazon or from specialist suppliers in the UK. However, machines need to be serviced regularly and you also need to think about a bottled oxygen supply as a backup in case of breakdown or power failure.

Thank you Pete you know exactly what i am talking about, i thought i would put my feelers out to see if anyone had one to sell and then i would check all the criteria.
I am recovering from Lyme's disease and this now means that oxygen is not getting into my cells so the Clinic in the uk say i will need to use an oxygen concentrator with a mask for 8 weeks and then be re tested to see if this has had the desired effect. I would need to take the concentrator with me to be calibrated. You understand completely regarding my request, if someone does know of one i will be liaising with the clinic before i buy one.. many thanks for your reply it is much appreciated! Linda.

Pete, also an oxygen concentrator would be used independantly and you would not need an oxygen cylinder, one of the reasons it is so expensive to buy. The clinic in the uk will charge over 500 quid for 8 weeks just to rent! i hope only to use this for 8 weeks or at the most 16 if they deemed it necessary.

Hi Linda,
Okay, for your circumstances it makes sense to go for a second hand portable concentrator if you can find one.
My father was on 8 litres of oxygen 24/7 until he died recently. As his life depended on the oxygen supply he needed at least 4 hours of backup bottled oxygen in case of a power cut or a machine failure. His machine did fail once and he switched to his bottled oxygen and called the company that supplied it, who were there in under two hours with a replacement machine.

In your situation it’s obviously less critical, and as the prognosis is for a full recovery then a cheap-ish second hand machine for a couple of months would be ideal.
You could try eBay maybe?

Yes i thought i would try and get a second hand one rather than buy new, sorry to hear about your father in his situation it was vital to have a guaranteed supply, i only need 4 hours per day for the 8 weeks and Yes i thought of Amazon and Ebay too.
Thanks for your input with my request its much appreciated. Linda.

The concentrator I was issued by the spanish system is the Inogenone G3, to my amazement it retails at €3200.
Have a look at their web page ( https://www.win-health.com/inogen-one-g ... ncentrator )
or on Ebay.es there's a used machine for sale i France at €400 plus carriage - link is https://www.ebay.es/itm/AirSep-Focus-po ... Swki1aqn7t
