Here in Sweden they are in EVERY shop, all over the country, sitting beside the entrance door begging for money.
In the shops they work 2 together, one behind the customer waiting to see the code they insert for the paycard. The other one taking the chance to rob the person while packing the groceries.
They go for older people that are a little less careful with their belongings.
When I see them I move to another cue line. :x

Hi

Paulr referred to the "accordion player", I use that term loosely, outside Consum in La Marina urb. I cannot for some reason understand why he is allowed to sit there driving everybody bonkers with that awful single note badly played racket. If I was one of the unfortunate checkout people I would have probably murdered him by now.
The other day I was there he was probably on his break because he was nattering for about half an hour on his mobile phone. He drives around in a car which, I assume is legal??.....he seems to be doing very well and obviously doesn't go short of food!!

Back in UK last year, we went to Cardiff indoor market and there he was, sitting outside playing his accordion. He called out "Hola! Buenos Dias".
I said "Conozco tu hermano" and threw 50p into his hat. At least he made some semblance of actually playing it and the odd tune was even recognisable. Unlike the Romanian lady outside the bank in the main drag of Cardiff who was simply squeezing the thing so it sounded like squeaky door.
At least we don't get "charity bombed" over here.

I think the accordion player outside Consum in Quesada is excellent & we always give him whatever brown change we have. Thinking about asking him to our house warming party - he will make an excellent accompaniment to the paella. :text-lol:

Don't mind the odd music player - or trolley returner they are at least offering something and giving you the option to make a donation but the windscreen washers as you approach major cities in the UK annoy me and can get petulant when you tell them to "s*d off - I washed my car yesterday - it took me 2 hours to wash, leather and polish and I don't appreciate you leaning on my bonnet"

They then walk away snarling leaving you with a half streaky windscreen!

There's a family who camp outside Supavalu at the golf course, and Rojales Mercadona. They have alternated venues with their dog for more years then I can remember. My friend tried to give them some groceries at Christmas but they were rudely refused and told they only want money. I've seen them talking on mobile phones...they all look well fed, so I refuse to respond to them in any way. After all these years they could get jobs - I don't believe they need to beg and I'm amazed the supermarkets don't make them move on.
I'm not a mean person - but I am fed up with being called and greeted with a hand held out every time I go to the supermarket.

I think that the music is recorded and he simulates playing. However, I don't see that as any different to a barrel organ player, playing music. It's enjoyable.
