Drones

Drones

Postby Innis22 » Thu Dec 07, 2017 9:22 pm

Today around 1:45pm I was spied upon by a black drone hovering above my home in Pueblo Bravo. I was in the process of locking up and it was obviously interested in what I was doing. As I was walking on Av del Mar I witnessed it spying over other properties, stopping at intervals above certain ones. I continued walking and watching and it came towards me and hovered above me for about 5 seconds before moving off. I reported this to the Guardia who were very helpful and took the matter seriously. I was told to report to them if and when it happens again. Any suggestions as to how one can deal with this invasion of privacy?

Thank you for your comments. This particular drone must have had a camera or viewing device because it followed me as I was walking, and when I stopped and looked up at it, it stopped too, hovering 5 or 6 feet right above me.
I felt most annoyed because I had no control over this invasive operators actions.

In the UK I had a drone right above me flying quite low staring at me with its night vision red light shining while I put my dustbins out one evening at 9pm. I waved at it to show I knew it was there and after a minute it sped away.

I can't imagine there are many drones without a camera and it may just be a bit of fun but it does appear quite sinister when they are looking down on what you are up to!

I had one last year hovering over me when I was in the garden. It's intrusive and a good way for burglars to watch houses and know when the occupants are out. They clearly should be banned - they are dangerous and I had one fly right in front of my car a couple of years ago. It could have gone through the windscreen. So many near misses with aircraft too. I believe their use should be confined to the military and search and rescue organisations.

Hello
I had a similar problem which is easily solved. As an electronics engineer it was a doddle to make a spark gap generator which blanks ALL radio signals in a local area - quite illegal of course, but very, very, effective. Drone smashed to pieces ....sadly. It also works with loud radio, television etc. Talk to your local teccie......

I usually bend over and drop my shorts: they usually crash soon after...
