ROBBERY

Postby Dawn1962 » Sat Dec 16, 2017 11:02 pm

Please be aware I was robbed while having a meal in The Chinese Restaurant in Benijofar tonight, the one on the corner next to Breeze Bar, my purse and phone were taken from my bag that was hanging over the back of the chair with my coat over the top of it.If anyone finds a purse or a phone ( the phone was cheap but could be sold for a few euros but had unreplaceable photos on it) in Benijofar please post on this forum as purse also has photos that cannot be replaced. Police were called but we're disinterested.thank you.

So sorry to hear this, it must be very upsetting.

However, we have had a number of posts on this forum saying that it isn't advisable to put bags on backs of chairs, on tables or on the floor when out in bars and restaurants. The advice has always been to carry a cross body bag whenever possible and to keep it on your body while sitting anywhere. I always use a cross body bag whenever I feel the need to carry a handbag and put it on my lap with the strap still around me so no one can steal it or anything from it.

I know none of this will help you now and you must be upset, but it may help in future.

As for the photos, when you get a new phone it's a good idea to use a photo holding website such as Google photos, that way you can never lose any photos again, as they are automatically saved and upload to Google when in any WiFi area or at home. Your original photos will still be there on your phone for you to look at and share on your phone but you will have the added assurance of copies of them being in a safe place online ( securely protected with your password) for you to access should you ever lose your phone. I use Google photos all the time, as I am photo mad and couldn't imagine losing my photo memories, plus it's free to use.

Thanks Jan, normally I am so vigilant with my bag but obviously I let my guard down. Thanks for the advice though it's much appreciated.

Where is the Nan Kin in Benijofar that you were robbed in? The Nan kin garden, commonly called just Nan Kin Benimar has been closed for Christmas for more than a week. I'm not being picky i use these Restaurants quite a lot & would just like to know which one. Have you got the name or the location right? Please enlighten.

Hi,
One of our members rfh40 is having problems posting and has asked me to post this for him:

"Sorry to hear of your loss , we will all have to be vigilant other the festivities.
Well that’s spooky, we were going to go there last night and drove passed around 5pm and shutters were still down (which is late for them even in the winter) and suspected like last year they were closed for few days prior to Christmas so we didn’t go.
I am aware they used to have CCTV down there that is intergrated into their alarm system,so assume that still do?
Might. be an idea to ask the local Police to ask to view ? Even if it’s just to help further incidents.

Hope it doesn’t spoil your Christmas too much".

Thanks for everyone's comments, maybe I'm getting mixed up with the name of Chinese, it was the one on the corner next to The Breeze Bar.
