You only need to renew your habitation certificate if you are selling your property and the certificate is more than 5 years old.

Marcliff is correct Dot. We asked in Quesada town hall and the helpful guy there said the same thing - Don't worry about it being renewed and if and when you sell, the solicitor will advise about what to do.

No, the Habitation Certificate should be given to you when/if you buy a property but the Padron is something you need to sign onto at the town hall. The more people who sign on the Padron, the better the streets are cleaned and rubbish collected.
Hope this explains it.
Jan.

No habitation is more important than padron as you cant sell your house without one
padrons are easy to renew if you need to change your car but habitation is more like your house deeds if you havent got them then chase it up

Yes, we are on the padron and are Non Resident. We were actively encouraged to sign on when we asked in the town hall.
Just go to your local town hall or municiple centre in Quesada and ask what you need to bring to sign on. I think it's passport but not sure what else they may need.
