I would advise that you check again as this states you can not transport animals in the cabin on flights to or from UK unless they are Mobility Assistance Dogs

I guess the best thing is just try it. If they don't allow you on with the dog, book another flight with an airline who will, if there are any.

Ah, so you are only going one way then. No good for someone coming on holiday which is a shame.

Thank you for your interest in our company. Please be informed that you will be able to take one small dog with you in cabin from Liverpool to Alicante, as long as the dog and the the cage does not surpass the weight of 6kg. Dogs may be carried in the passenger cabin, as well as in the aircraft hold, and only under the following requirements: - They must have a microchip implanted under the skin; - They must have a health certificate; - They must have a valid rabies vaccine, in accordance to the following EU legislation: http://ec.europa.eu/food/animals/pet-mo ... dex_en.htm -They must have a passport for animals, issued by the veterinarian. Carriage of average living animals, dogs or cats is permitted in the aircraft hold provided that such animals are kept in standardized cages according to IATA Regulations, cages with the maximum dimensions of 120 cm x 80 cm x 80 cm. In the passengers cabin it is permitted to carry small living animals belonging to the PET category (the pet and cage must not surpass the weight of 6 kg.) The cage must have the maximum dimensions of 45x30x23cm, the owner having the responsibility to hold them during the flight. For the trips headed for the UK, no live animals may be transported either in the passenger cabin, or in the hold.
