Lost Ginger Cat

Re: Lost Ginger Cat

I was speaking with someone yesterday who told me that their cat disappeared for 2 months and walked back as if he had never been away. Don't give up hope.

It's a pity we don't see as many posts as this when it comes to cruelty to dogs or any other animals.

This cat has been missing for weeks now and I don't mean to sound discompassionate but that's what cats do they go off find a new home and settle down until it suits them then there off on their travels again that's just how it is IMHO

We see just as many posts about dogs and welcome any posts about any animals. An animal lover loves their pets just as much whatever they are, cats or dogs, and becomes just as attached.

It may be difficult for a doggy person to see that cats are just as precious to their owners as dogs are to theirs but that is the case. Cats may be more independent but they are just as sorely missed when they don't come home.

It is lovely to see jlhowles continuing to post in the hope that her much loved cat is found and we would welcome anyone whose animal goes missing to do this. It is so heartening when someone comes back on the forum to tell us their pet is back home safe and sound.

I'm sure that most of us members on here care passionately about cruelty to animals but it's also nice that we care about missing animals and want to support and hope with their owners that they are found safe and well.

From my experience, of reading local forums/facebook, I'd conclude that yes, cats do go walkabout and leave their owners frantictic. Whereas, most posts regarding dogs are not from desperate owners but about stray dogs that were, presumably, dumped.

Thank you so much Jan for your kind words and to everybody on this forum who do show compassion - it has been such a comfort to me that I've had such amazing support from people on this forum and still keep an eye out for me

If anything, by updating this post, doesn't it show that I'm still actively trying to find my pet and not giving up? Wouldn't it be regarded as 'cruel' to completely disregard that my pet has gone missing, not knowing where or what has happened to Casper? Regardless of the fact that cats may have a tendancy to 'wander' and 'move in with somebody else', Casper is still my pet and I will continue to look and update this post.

Casper is still not home and we are still looking xx

A lot of us are hoping Casper comes home and would love to hear good news. If someone isnt interested they dont have to read the posts. By now the best hope for Casper is probably that he has temporarily moved in with someone who doesn't know he has his owner still looking, and this forum is a good way of spreading the word. So then if someone mentions they have been adopted by a ginger cat, a forum member might put 2 and 2 together. Please keep us posted , and many of us are sympathetic. Personally I would be frantic if any of mine went missing.
