Spanglish Bar, near Consum in Dona Pepa, has free WiFi - It also has a good quiz on Sunday nights.

What food have you had there Katie? I've never seen a menu and when I asked they said they dont serve meals, just Tapas.

Jan

Edit. PS. I like Spanglish it's a very nice, comfortable bar. However, I find it very frustrating that they can't go to the effort to write a menu, with prices, even just for their Tapas.

I think they do breakfast but when I asked why they don't have a menu or a board outside showing what they have (in the interest of my TalkQuesada research of course ;)) the answer was strange..."We don't need one, just ask us for what we have!"...weird!
:?
No wonder El Toro is busy at breakfast time, with their 3 euro breakfast written on a board outside, and Spanglish, as nice as it is, is very often not!

If you know the owners Katie, please mention this? :text-thankyouyellow:

The Spanglish Bar seem to cook main meals for special events. I went, with a group of my friends, to listen to a country and western group. We had to book our tables in advance - anyone not having a main meal had to sit outside (no problem in the temperatures) and those inside had a main meal and pud! I can still remember the apple pie with custard (was the best that I have tasted in Spain!!!) Must admit tho' on a regular basis there does just seem to be tapas. Not having prices, whether in a shop, bar etc is just off-putting.

I agree, it is off-putting and, as you have just proved, how do people know they actually serve food? - I didn't know they cook meals for special events.

This is no reflection on Spanglish. It is a very nice friendly bar and we use it regularly.

Hi, I did ask the owner Angie, they used to do meals but don't think it was busy enough so they now have tapas and you ask because they change daily, but once they are gone that's it, it was in winter they had meals so maybe they will start again.

Must admit that the show with meal that I went to was in May (this year), and not during my last stay in September :D

They certainly seem less busy than they used to be! I sat outside, with one of my friends from this forum for four hours one evening in September and they had very few customers, compared to other bars in the area.
