Airport Parking

I used the on site long stay, 33€ for a week. I booked online and no advance payment was required, but IIRC it was 10% cheaper if paying in advance. As others have said, I'm happy to pay a little more for security and convenience.

You do not have to pay upfront to get the lower price. You just need to register with them, free, and they then email you occasionally, no big deal. We have been doing this for three years now. Nothing to pay until you return home and then pay at the automatic machine.
The entrance barrier records your reg. no. and links it to your booking then prints both onto your ticket, simples.
You receive up to 20 days parking for the 7 day price and if you need longer it is about 3 euros a day, all calculated by the automatic pay machine. There is also only a few euros difference to park in the short stay multi-storey but you can decide at the time of booking, all the prices are there to see.

I had to pay upfront in October paid by credit card.

I've never paid up front. Just book online and then take the ticket going in. When you put your ticket in you pay then at the reduced price if you've booked online. 3 weeks was about 54 euro as opposed to over 200 if you don't book online and get confirmation.

Are we talking about long term parking Alicante? Park in the old car park?

I use the main one right next to the new terminal.

We use aqua park which is 2 minutes from the airport & they have a courtesy bus. First class service.

I don´t know how you booked your car parking where you had to pay up front, we book online.

If you use the link above, you put in your dates and you get the price for both the long stay car park, the one near the entrance, and the short stay car park, near the terminal building. To get the reduced rate just open a free account and then log in.

There are two sets of prices but they are both the same. You pay at the end of your stay using the automatic ticket machine. If you paid up front, what would happen if your flight plans were changed when you were away, presumably you would have extra to pay.

By the way, this system is for all AENA airports, not just Alicante.

No idea, I have always paid up front and I have to use it again in a few weeks so I will let you know. I also use it at San Javier. I never use the payment machine.
