Broken Parasol

Hi Does anyone know if parasol string mechanism can be fixed. Thanks in advance for any info.

Yep, pretty simple. Just take off the plate by the handle and you'll see the spool winder. Probably the most difficult/awkward part is threading the new string (which you can get at a Chino, if you can't re-use the existing one - albeit a bit shorter). Take photo's, if you can, on you phone, so you can see how it goes back together. You might have to redo it again, like I did, the first time, when I forgot to thread a piece on first - just like when you fit a new connector on the garden hose. Just have a go - if I can do it anyone can, just have patience. I did find that a straightened wire coat hanger helped thread the string through.
