Caravans kept on premises
Caravans kept on premises
by AndyDiggers » Thu Jun 14, 2018 7:48 am
Hi people
we want to keep a caravan on our Quesada premises for a period of time, not on the road, are there any rules that make this not possible as we are bringing it from the UK

Hi I am not sure but don't think it is a problem just remember you are not allowed to tow a British caravan with a Spanish reg car.

We are thinking of bringing it here from U.K. with U.K. car
And then using our Spanish car to tow over here, could I ask why you think this may not possible, or is it just one of those crazy Spain things

Your caravan has to be registered in the same way as a car. It will need a certificate of conformity (available from the makers) and then has to have an ITV (MOT) inspection. You can then apply for a registration document for the caravan.
You will also need proof that you own the caravan by showing invoices (as caravans aren't registered in UK there won't be a registration document for it).
You will also need to insure the caravan but, if you already have Spanish insurance, your insurance company will just add it on to the existing policy.
Still bringing it over?
Oh, and if you own your own property and land to put the caravan on there will be no problem. If on a community they may have rules depending on the size of the caravan so ask your president if you have one.

If you live on a community you will not be allowed to keep a caravan on your property it is in most community statues .
