But one thing is certain whether it`s on a forum or in the press...Corvera Airport is finally going to open, and Los Javier is definitely going to close.

Just looking at the route from Quesada to Corvera Airport on Google Maps (unfortunately, I can't see how to put a screenshot up in Quick Reply...) and that is one bummer of a journey !
To add salt, all the routes seem to pass close by St Janvier.....

Corvera must open...cost a lot and cannot be left empty...in twenty years we will wonder what all the fuss was about...and San Javier will be just another military airbase.
No jobs will be lost..what is the problem?
Too many people saying "I worry, I fear, I am concerned, It could be a problem..

Sorry to disagree but jobs will be lost. Staff at San Javier including car hire staff are expected to move a long way to Corvera, will it be worth it?

Corvera, and other airports in Spain, have been built, not because they're needed, but because some people have made a lot of money. Castellon, in Valencia, was another one. I'm sure the management at Alicante will be chuffed though as it'll mean a greater demand for their services. The "which is the nearest airport" factor, for most on the Costa Blanca, is pushed down to about la Zenia. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldne ... tions.html

Can someone please tell me they will use Corvera!! It may open and poor old San Javier will close but unless there is demand for Corvera it will die. I just do not see the business case for this. It was built on assumptions of growth and theme parks and all have fell by the wayside. Tell me I am wrong!
