I've been a client of smile since 2002. But not anymore. Reasonable is not a word I'd use.

Not disputing your comment as I don't know the fees at this dentist....but everyone has a different perspective of 'reasonable'.
Most of us living in UK need to have a dental procedure private in the UK at times for certain things and private treatment in the UK IMO is never reasonable by anyone's standards!

480€ for a root filling! If that's not unreasonable I will apologise.

That is very expensive! I didn't think it was quite that expensive in the UK - Although it can be as I just found this on Root filling -
Quote: It’s a technically demanding treatment and you may be referred to a specialist endodontist. Private prices depend on the tooth size and position (back teeth tend to be more expensive) and complexity. Private dentist price: £95 - £700 (£53.90 NHS price!)

I had a root filling done at Dental Europa in Dona Pepa by the Consum. Initial check, back for complete clearing of the back molar, temporary filling done. Next appointment was to take an impression, fill the bit taken out and a temporary crown put on. Next appointment to fit the bit that had been made and the new bit inserted and finished off with a crown.
Final appointment to file the filling down and check the crown was in place plus cleaning etc.
Cost was €230.
(Note to self, stop eating toffees.)
Can't praise Dental Europa enough.

That was a good service for the price. My one and only root canal was done in the UK on NHS by a dentist who, looking back, did not want to do it (she offered private and I went for NHS) she completely messed up- My tooth was infected with an abscess and after one course of anti biotic she drilled and filled in one session and a few days later the infection which had not been properly cleared came back and I went back..she shrugged when I asked what could be done and I then was in so much pain that I said pull the tooth. It was only later I heard what should have been done over a few sessions and could have saved my tooth. I think a flight to Spain will be worth it if ever I need one again!!

Charges can vary enormously. I need local anaesthetic to have my teeth cleaned....Partly for being a wimp, but mainly because my teeth are so sensitive. The first year I used a British dentist. Lovely chap, very good job, 160 euros..Being a newbie, I gulped, and paid up thinking that this was the going rate. This year, now feeling better placed, used a Spanish dentist..Result for exactly same process....40 euros!! Now feeling a right mug!
