Little fingers.....

Little fingers.....

Postby avoncliffe » Sun Feb 18, 2018 10:14 am

Hi All
We are presently in the cold and wet UK ((

Although I can find plenty UK style I can't seem to find any plug socket covers for Spanish sockets that stop "little people from exploring them" anywhere on Amazon nor do I recall seeing in the shops in Quesada.

Anyone know of ideally a website I could purchase on line

Thanks
Vera and Geoff

I'm sure i've seen them in the larger Chinos . . .
But if you want, there is this on Amazon UK, you get 6 Europlug blanks and 6 3pin US Blanks for £2 . . .

Modern sockets should have safety shields that prevent you poking anything into them. If yours don’t then it’s probably time to upgrade them anyway.
You can get the little plastic covers that go into the socket, but they’re tricky to fit and even trickier to remove because they’re at the bottom of the recessed socket. Some have a special tool to remove them, I think I’ve seen these in Leroy Merlin.

The worst things from an electrical safety point of view are the socket adapters that allow you to plug foreign plugs into Spanish sockets. The ones that are proper EU to UK adaptors are fine, provided the UK live pins are shielded, but those universal ones like this are lethal:
