New precinct

Lets hope there is plenty more parking spaces when the new precinct opens, and the new supermarket by the arches. At the present time , we try and avoid going into the centre , as parking is a nightmare... Lovely to see that Quesada is so busy, attracting many people. A Wonderful vibrant all year round busy place to live. We are all very lucky.

Yes, we do. We need the competition to keep pricing keen.
Supermarkets are built by big business with lots of money.
Flat car parks are built by councils with little land and very little money, unless, it’s a pay car park, in which case it’ll never get used.

I do feel sorry for residents in Quesada having to cope with this traffic on a daily basic and mores during the summer holidays. It would be ideal if they did the same as some major narrow roads in Catral - parking only on one side. I find it difficult to join the main road from side streets in Quesada due to cars parks so close to junctions/zebra crossing etc. and of course some driver drive too fast and others don't give way - a great system I as taught is 'zip fastener' system.

In fact the Lidls road just off the roundabout was backed up to the roundabout the other day and the traffic was creeping along and at the same time the police were having to direct the traffic in the high street just inside the arches as the parked cars were making it difficult for traffic to flow both ways and police were stopping the traffic one way intermittently to keep it flowing -If the police had not done this it would have been gridlock and this was October!
Now the planners have allowed a Mas Y Mas supermarket with underground car park in this area. That car park will obviously only be for the supermarket and imagine the grid lock then!!
Quesada town is quite small and already has a Gamma supermarket and now a Lidls which seemed good enough...who decided it needed another big store like Mas y Mas?
Be fair, it IS Spain.

After being in UK recently and taking nearly half an hour to get out of an Asda car park and then stuck in a traffic jam on the M4 for another half hour then I'm pretty glad it is Spain.

shop daily from your local shop is the answer, like in the uk the supermarkets wiped the little corner shop out in the 70,s , in the the uk now the big supermarkets are opening local corner shop type stores ,gone full circle .

Only an hour? In the UK? Things MUST be looking up.

Apparently there are plans to revamp the main street with parking on one side only. It was supposed to be before summer but was put off until ----------When?

The busiest place, in my view, is from the taxi rank up to the town hall and especially at the pinch point created by Old Don with his ever spreading empire. Perhaps if Av de las Nacions were one way between Calle de Azul and Calla de Blanca with the return being via Calle de Blanca
