I'd be interested to know too. I have outside steps up to a roof terrace which need repainting. There seems to be some kind of texture (for slip resistance?). I was thinking masonry paint but I don't imagine it will be very durable on steps.

If you have the same common staircase treads as I do they are made of the white cement. The issue being that the cover is wholly insufficient therefore if you do not seal them regularly then the reinforcement rusts and blows the individual steps apart and the resultant is a big costly mess.
Don't ask me how I know and I should know better as well.

My first 'port of call' for most advice, regarding maintenance of our property, is the local Ferreteria. Being local and involved in 'the Trade', it's possibly something which is common to other properties around you and they've come across similar issues before.

Hi you will not normally do a good repair and if you do some of the other bits will probably flake you need to strip completely re seal and then re cover.

Try considering the paint used on commercial garage floors it is both oil and water resistant but most ofd all exceedingly durable. I believe you can obtain it now in various colours.

I need to do the same job,I have seen 2.5ltr tins of paint for balconies and ballistrades in AKAI (ground floor of shopping centre near the big Carrefour on the way to Torreveca)I think it forms a tighter seal than masonry paint, but what do I know I'm new here myself,it's about €16/17 a pop it just might be what your looking for, good luck,if you use it let us know if it done the job, cheers Dave.

Scubydoo is right. You need to scrape it off, seal with some size or diluted PVA, before repainting. We've used the Balustrade paint from AKI where we've patched up the balustrades with white cement and PVA. It's good paint but the next time we go out there will be more areas that have flaked off, they really need stripping right down and re-doing. Apart from that any repair looks just like that, a patched up repair.
