Torresat Remote Control

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement of the attached please? (photo attached). Torresat want to charge us 30 euros which seems a lot to me. Would one of these “Universal” remotes work?

If you know make and model, try and download an app to your phone and use your smartphone. That’s what I did with mine.

A universal remote can be programmed to work - just make sure it’s compatible with your tv/dvd (they list compatible models on the packaging)
Might be cheaper on Amazon etc

It's clearly a SMART (manufacturers name) box, you just need to know the model number, which may well be printed on the device or a label underneath, once you have manufacturer and model, you can google around - ebay/amazon if needed. With the 'all in ones' make sure under the manufactures list that SMART is listed.

Personally, i'd phone up Torresat, judging by the state of that remote control, you've had it a while - you are paying them a monthly fee and if have been doing so for years, then a replacement remote they should give you for free. That remote basic, it is no more than 10 euros worth & even allowing a reasonable profit margin - reasonable i'd say should not quite be 3 x the real cost. :o

I'd phone the up demand a free remote or they cancel the service ;-) Cheeky, but in fairness they are taking money off you for stealing a satellite signal that cost them nothing, so they can afford it :D if you've had the service for years a tenners worth of remote they'll swallow - or should do! Can always try, no harm ;-)
