Monty's Bar & Restaurant, Montebello recommendation

Postby glosman » Fri Feb 05, 2016 2:57 pm

Monty's in Montebello has recently been taken over, spruced up & has a new chef Alex who used to be at Graces bar in Quesada. We have been the last couple of nights firstly for Weds steak night where we had the best steak for years with all the trimmings, 2 steaks including wine €16.95 which was great + last night there was a €6 quiz night special followed by a quiz.
Last night I fancied a pudding that wasn't on the menu 'no problem I will ask chef' & a few seconds later the lovely waitress came back to say chef would do what I wanted - brilliant service made my evening.
There is also a 2 meals for €10 on Mondays & the menu is good for breakfasts, snacks & evening meals (kitchen is closed Tuesdays apparently).
Before you ask do I have a vested interest - answer is 'NO' am just a very satisfied customer who hopes this place gets lots of support & custom -- give it a try its well worth it.

Good to know that Alex has found another job, was shocked to hear yesterday that Grace's has or was closing.
Hope the place takes off, as we had always enjoyed the food at Grace's

As a regular customer of Grace's bar I can assure everyone that it hasn't closed nor is it about to.
Just to clear up any false rumours. :)

Link to their facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/Montysbaralgorfa03169/?fref=ts

Driving go over main roundabout at entrance to Quesada as if you are going to the Motorway/Zoco Market go over that roundabout towards Zoco Market/San Miguel & turn first right at smaller roundabout with petrol stn on your left.
That takes you on road past Cement works (well think its cement or similar) - Montebello will be just around the bend in front of you where you will see Montys.

I have never had more than a snack there, but one of my quiz team says how good and reasonable it now is.
Were you at the quiz on Thursday, @glosman?
If you were, you were probably swearing about my team, because we win it nearly every week :D If we could find a better quiz we'd go there ... winning all the time is like catching a fish with every cast, rewarding, but a bit boring!!
