Postby Rodt » Thu Dec 07, 2017 6:14 pm

The club now has new owners Maggs&Kevin, great hosts, new chef from the uk,food is fantastic & very reasonable, with the last owners it went downhill very quickly, shame really as its a lovely location, many improvements have already taken place, give the club a visit I'm sure like us you will return.

That is really good news, I'm only 2 minutes from there and only went into it once last year, went in he dining room it was filthy staff were sitting around the bar, I did ask if anyone was gonna clean the tables, was told we are on our break, I just walked out. I used to run bars and clubs in London would have sacked staff like that. will definitely give it another go next summer when I'm back out. Thanx for posting.

New owners every couple of years. Regular staff changes. Let's hope they tidy up the children's pirate ship play area which has been filthy and run down for Atleast the last 7 years. Food has always been pretty good and prices not bad.

We had a function for 120 in the Country Club on Friday night. The service was very good, food terrific (first rate new chef) and entertainment great. We were on the dance floor all night. So good we're going back with for another night out in January. The new owners introduced themselves and were very friendly and, importantly, professional. They've kept on the best of the staff. Waiting and bar staff seemed motivated, which has been hard for them over the last few months with the risk of redundancy hanging over their heads. We're planning a St Patrick's eve celebration on 16 March. After Friday, we're taking that to JR's Country Club too. In case you're wondering, I don't work for the Country Club, I'm a genuine customer.

Don that's really good news, I used to like to wander up there for a wee bit of lunch but stopped doing it coz it always looked dirty, look forward to trying it when I come out next Summer. Glad you had such a lovely evening.

We went there once about a year ago and it was okay-ish. We drive past often to go either to the arches or to Benimar and it has always looked as though it had so much potential, but there never seems to be anyone there which is really off-putting. Hopefully the new owners can change that.
