Great minds think alike Sandra, I was thinking something like that, but then we would have to remember to keep putting our badges on every time we go around the Consum area...Can't see it working really - Nice idea but we would probably look a bit silly too, sitting there with a badge saying something like... "Hello, I'm a member of the TalkQuesada forum". :geek: :ugeek: :lol:

======

I didn't quite mean that, Jan - nothing quite so blatent!! :( Just something that you wouldn't mind wearing anywhere, but which was quite unobtrusive!!:lol:

Jan wrote:Good to hear of a new bar around at Consum but a decent restaurant would have been better - We now have 4 bars - a tapas restaurant & bar (Lizarran), a cafe/bar (Spanglish), the Faro bar and the new bar. With the only actual restaurant being the Chinese Wok around there, I'm not sure what we needed was another watering-hole. Let's hope it's a restaurant/bar.

Thanks for the 'hot off the press' news Ozzie.

:text-goodpost:

It is so hard for restaurants to make money with most homeowners only here for a month or two per year.

The existing ones do what they can to stay in business, but most who live here full time (NOT TQ members ofcourse), want top nosh for bottom dollar. An established restaurant (English-style menu) near the Laguna were providing Sunday Lunch at €9.95, BOGOF. It is rumoured that a party of 10 or 12 made a booking for a particular Sunday, and then rang back a couple of hours later to cancel because they'd just heard that a drink wasn't included!!!!

Who in their right-mind would make a large investment to service people with that mentality?

That's true Ozzy - It's easy to forget that restaurants cost more in set up and stocking up costs and are a business risk even in the best of times (and busier locations!). We will have to appreciate that the new owner thinks it's worth opening a new bar around there and hope he does well..... Looks like a pub crawl is on the cards next time we come over! :text-givemebeer: :text-lol:
