recommended place to eat near calle sola

Postby tiho » Tue Jun 28, 2016 9:47 am

hi, we are coming to queseda for a holiday next month , renting a villa on calle sola . we will be arriving approx 10pm and i would appreciate any recommendations for a place to grab a bite to eat please. we are bringing my mum who has walking difficulties and the kids will be tired and grumpy by then so we need somewhere cheap and cheerful as close as possible to our villa. i am hoping to do a grocery online order and have our food shopping delivered the next morning ,i have used mercadona at other locations so hoping they deliver to queseda area ? again, if anyone knows for sure that would be appreciated, thankyou in advance :)

Hi
You will be spoilt for choice as you are near to the Avda de las Naciones (Quesada High street) where lots of restaurants are. However it does depend on how far you are down Calle Sola as one end leads directly onto the High street and in the middle of Calle Sola is a cut through road called Calle Campo Viejo which leads to the far end of the High Street. If your villa is at the other end of Calle Sola it may be too far for your mum to walk, as she has difficulties.

The restaurants are many but at the Calle Campo Viejo end of the high street you have The Patagonia restaurant and if you like Indian food there is the Spice Hut.

At the Calle Sola end of the High street there are a lot of good restaurants, Chinese, Hungarian, Spanish and British type food. The cheap and cheerful places are a little walk off the High street but there are quite a few and depends on how far you want to walk with your mum. Your kids will probably love the Mini Golf bar and restaurant but on your first day it may be a little too far to walk from where you are as they will be tired. 10pm is late as well and if you get much of a delay the places serving food may be limited. When we brought our kids on holiday when they were younger we always brought food and drink with us from the airport (Boots do a good meal deal) and snacks in the suitcase, in case we were too late to go out for food. Hopefully your villa will provide a starter pack of food and drink.

There is a list of restaurants here on link below you could look through and see what may be near you as most of them have maps on. The Galleon has decent cheap and cheerful food, you can also get a reasonably priced meal in the Spanish restaurant Goyos - They have pizzas and burgers for the kids too, as do a number of places.

Here's the list:

The nearest supermarket is here on this link but they will be closed after 10pm: supermarkets-in-quesada-maps-photos-addresses-and-contact-details-f116/gama-jumerca-supermarket-ciudad-quesada-t3747.html

I'm sure others will give you more ideas. There really are lots of choices, just check the prices suit you and what they do for the children before you sit down.

Have a great holiday.

thankyou both so much for your replies. we will pack a few essentials just in case. our flight lands at 7.30pm so i am hoping we should be settled in and ready to eat by 10 at the latest, the kids are teens so not little (although still grumpy when tired after travelling!)
i see there is a chip shop so it might be a case of sending hubby down to get take out , assuming they are open late? otherwise we will certainly try some of the recommendations. looking forward to our holiday, Queseda looks perfect :D

I haven't heard of this one. Did you find it on the Internet as a number of restaurants and bars come and go and change names? There was a bar called Las Naciones a few years back but that has changed hands and is now a completely different restaurant.

Yes it's called 4th Avenue Restaurant. Not sure what's it's like as I haven't eaten there but have heard people say that they have enjoyed it and the outside seating is nice and they have entertainment some nights. I think it's Belgium food.
