As promised today we went (complete with iPad to take photos) to check out The Gateway & were delighted to see individual chairs at each outside table rather than the previously attached benches. At 2:15pm there was no one there outside & only three couples eating indoors. We did not eat there so can't review the food today (we have been many times previously but not since it's been The Gatweay) but I photographed the menu for you.

Where The Bells USED to operate from has been totally changed as already mentioned, today there didn't seem to be anyone around, maybe because it was after 2pm it was workers siesta?

Either the owner read our posts on here and changed the benches to chairs or heard you were coming to sort it out Chalkie!

Thanks for the photos.

I've worked on sites where it's mandatory to take the siesta, so I suppose the New Old Bells being close to the Police Station might explain why they stop. I've seen inside and it's looking good.

Obviously the secret is to take lunch as soon as possible after 2pm then. :text-lol: The times we've just started our starter at some restaurant or other & there's drilling or angle grinding starting up next door within minutes around 4pm.

That might have been me :). I once did some work for a builder who'd previously been shut down for six months when someone complained about the noise and they checked all his licences....
