The Chip Inn - La Marquesa Golf

Postby TonTri » Mon Jan 09, 2017 8:45 pm

We had takeaways from here twice when we were over last month. I had the scampi both times and OH had a large cod with a large chips between us. Both times it was better than we get in the UK. Would thoroughly recommend.

I've only just put it on there and will put the opening times on ASAP. We are still working on the listing as it also needs a map and distances that our Web developer embeds on there...bit busy at mo.

Had take-away there on Wednesday after seeing TonTri's post - think it was the first fish'n'chips I've bought in Spain for over 4 years...
It was nice - but still not quite up to standard of Hastings fish'n'chips! (Lifeboat or Blue Dolphin for anyone going there.)

Also disappointed that they'd sold out of haddock as I find cod is very overrated.
I enquired why they didn't do hake and was told there was no demand for it...
When I was growing up in London, hake was my favourite, and it is available fresh here (merluza) a lot cheaper than cod (bacalao).
(Perhaps they should try it, offering it cheaper than the cod!)

But the cod I had was very nice with thin batter.
However it will probably be another 4 years before I buy fish'n'chips again in Spain as I love Spanish food.

I can't get Hake in any fish shops near me in London either. It used to be Rock which was my absolute fave but now can't get that at all.
Quesada Fish and Chips don't do Hake either.
