My wife and I are keen swimmers and we just bought light neoprene swimming suits to use during the cooler months.
The suits are thin and are designed not to restrict arm movement.
We like them so much, we bought more for guests and kids.

Hope you don't mind me chipping in on this one, we have a heat pump on our pool and i have never used it as I am not sure how it is supposed to work (no instructions when we bought the villa). I have tried turning it on for an afternoon to limited effect - a few questions if anyone can help: does it need to run continuously? or do you just switch it on as you need it? How long does it normally take to raise the temperature? Is it expensive to run?

If you have a heat pump then you'll also need a pool cover to preserve the heat. You cannot just switch it on when you need it like a shower - that would never work. If you tried it 'one afternoon' it suggests it works but you'd need to leave it running longer to check its effectiveness.

It also depends upon the size and output as some smaller pumps only extends the use of a pool to late October and from April. Larger pumps will work all year round.... but they need to run, usually timed overnight and on a cheaper electric tariff. A friend with a 10x5 m pool had one fitted on Monday and his pool is just now reaching 30c - heated overnight with a pool cover. As for cost of running - they are efficient but I've been told anywhere between 50 -100euros a month depending on who you listen to

Thanks for the info Ken Pullan, much appreciated. I think a bit of digging on google may be required to find out more, in the mean time I think the wet suit idea is a great one.

Has anyone had a solar heating system installed to heat their pool. It may be more expensive doe Dive to install but if it's cheaper to run , then it may be the way to go. Thanks
