Paperwork for Residencia, Padron & Driving License

Paperwork for Residencia, Padron & Driving License

Postby Anniep » Wed Sep 28, 2016 5:53 pm

1. We are moving from Mazarrón in Murcia so will have to redo our residencia, so where do we go and what docs do we need? Not sure how things work up there!
2. Where do we sign on the Padron

3. My husband has a Spanish driving licence, but mine is inscripted which is allowed in Murcia, I was told today they didn't think Alicanté allowed it, can anyone confirm please and if not where do I go to change my licence?

4. Please Confirm Sips cards changed in Rojales.

Don't you just love paperwork!,lol

1. You need to go to any of the National Police Stations or foreigners' office to update your residencia. There is a foreigners office in Playa Flamenca at the Orihuela Costa town hall and other places around. If you search on here the full list of stations was listed.
2. Moving to Quesada you do your padron at Rojales town hall. Very helpful in there and it is done in a matter of minutes.
3. No idea of what a "redacted" driving licence is but the nearest trafico is in Alicante.
4. SIP cards are also done at Rojales town hall. There is a lady there in the mornings who will sort it all out for you. She speaks limited English but is very helpful.

There are 2 in Torrevieja, one at Playa Flamenca. They are quite good, will tell you what you need (in English) and make an appointment for you. The only drawback is it will take 3 visits, one to get make the appointment (although I believe they now do it online), one for the appointment and another to collect the card as they don't issue them there. Elche National Police station issues them there and then but don't (or won't) speak English in my experience. Again, you make the appointment online first and I believe there is quite a backlog there.

OK thanks, we have always done the residencia ourselves and manage to get ourselves understood, and I know it's time consuming. We have a 40min drive to Cartagena to get ours and you have to get there before 7.30/8am as they only do so many Europe (Brits) a day, so the first 20 get a ticket. And yes you have to go back! Such a pain, the only advantage we can spend the day in Cartagena a place I love! Thanks for your help

Thanks Jim, two different estate agents told me they had never heard of them and in Alucante I would have to change to a Spanish one! Glad someone knows what I was talking about, they obviously didn't! Lol
