How long did it take ? I want to get residency as quickly as I can when I get to Spain , and preferably not too expensive

The biggest delay is probably the time that it takes to get the appointment. Sunflower S.L. Fiscal reps in Benijofar are taking us to do our Residencia in Orihuela next week - charging Eu 60 per person, which includes making the appointment, a pre-meeting to complete the application form and check that we have the correct supporting documents, taking us to Orihuela and accompanying us at the appointment. The appointment was booked 7 weeks in advance, although you may get an earlier appointment, if you try Torrevieja or Elche (I wouldn't recommend Torrevieja - we tried there first, with our solicitor having completed the application forms on our behalf and checking all our docs, but the policeman marched us straight back to reception, pointing sternly at a list of requirements that included "Translator"!)

I went to Help Vega Baja in San Miguel who gave us all necessary info at the time plus showed how to fill in the applications.
We then went to Orihuela Costa town hall and saw police who checked the papers & then returned at a later date having paid fee to bank.
All went quite smoothly think it took around 3 weeks, but can't remember all the details.
