Residencia

Residencia

Postby Bobbiet » Tue Feb 11, 2014 11:39 am

I understand that I have the choice of 3 locations, Torrevieja, Elche or Orihuela to get my residencia. Does anyone have any comments as to which is the easiest etc... Thanks

well you have been miss informed, Quesada comes under Orihuela costa and you go to the town hall in Playa Flamenca. Its just down the Hill from Mercadona, park in their car park and its less than 5 minutes walk. Its on the ground floor and the office is in the far left hand corner. Ok and good luck. Mike

We got our NIE from the town hall in Playa Flamenca but didn't know you could get the residencia there.
We got ours from Elche National Police Station by the hospital. Our neighbours got theirs from the National Police station in Alicante.
Elche one was very easy. Download the EX form that was valid at the time (they have changed numbers), paid the fee at the bank and took the receipt to the police station. Got there early and took a number and waited to be called (over two hours even though we were there by 8 am.)
Green card was issued there and then.
Not sure if they have changed to an appointment system now like trafico has.

Hello Bobbiet,

There seems to be some differing answers on where to get the Residencia but I'm sure your local town Hall, whether that's Quesada or Rojales Ayuntamiento, should be able to give you some up date information on where to go. I would ask there first if they can confirm where you have to go to get Residencia.

In the meantime, here is the website for the town Hall in Player Flamenca (Ayuntamiento de Orihuela) if it's any help : http://www.orihuela.es/

The address is: Plaza Marqués de Arneva 1

Phone: 96 673 68 64

Hope this helps,

Jan

Thanks for you replies. Amongst my neighbours, they have all been to either Orihuela town (not costa) or Elche. I went to the ayunimento this morning and they said Orihuela Costa. On reading the web site for OC, you cannot do it all in one day, you have to go back at a later date. I would very much prefer to get it over and done in one visit if at all possible.

We live in Quesada and got ours from Playa Flamenca (2 visits, one week apart) easy parking there and far less traffic to contend with.

We are doing our residencia this evening at Orihuiela police station where it is all done at once and you get it straight away. If you choose the other routes recommended such as Playa Falmenca my understanding is that you can get residencia but not straight away and not in one visit. We have used a translator who has checked that we have all the documents required and he alsol came with us to Orihuela last week to make the appointment for today which we though was very quick. Anyway good luck.

Hi,
We live in Quesada and have just got our Residencia (Jan 2014) from the National Police Station at Orihuela. We made an appointment a couple of weeks before at the police station and were given a list of documents we had to take with us to the appointment. Just as a warning if your wife/husband is not working, take the original and a copy of your marriage certificate. This wasn't on the list of documents we were given and so had to go back the next day.
The appointment we were given was between 4pm and 7pm, there was a crowd of people with the same appointment time when we got there so had to wait our turn. Its not first come first seen, the registrars have a list so you can ask what position you are in, we were no 14 and were seen at 17:30 so only had to wait 90 mins.

Ok, quick update.... Rang Orihuela Costa number yesterday and was told I did not need an appointment. WRONG. Got there at 8.30 this morning and more or less empty. Someone went through all my paperwork and the only thing not correct was my Padron was dated Dec 2013 and they wanted one dated 2014. They said it had to be dated within 2 months of the application. Anyway, back there next week (with an appointment). Dropped by the local Ayuenimento on the way home to get a new copy of the Padron and they said rubbish, valid for 3 months. Got a new one printed anyway to save any arguments. Happy days

Thanks for the update - It will be helpful for others to know how all this works.

Pleased to hear the Residencia can be done locally - You are almost there! Hope all goes well next week.

Keep us updated.
