Spanish driving license

Spanish driving license

Postby CathieClarke52 » Wed Feb 17, 2016 8:48 pm

As a resident in Spain my husband did the right thing and started the process to change his UK driving license to a Spanish license. He used a recommended person, Mr Nick Bateman, handed over €50 as a deposit to one of his colleagues. She did nothing to begin any work on the application. Mr Bakeman took over the job after some months had passed and reassured us the application would be sorted soon as.
My husband supplied all his personal details, the necessary information as requested. Ie passport, residential, NIE etc. After being giving the run a round for around a year, ( he's a patient man), he decided to go to elsewhere.
After 6 weeks, he is now in posession of a Spanish driving licence.
So sad when one of our own countrymen 'rip you off'. Be aware and be careful of who you hand money and very personal details to.

You surprise me. Nick Bateman and his wife have been recommended by several people on here. He did ours last January (2015) and was quick and efficient. We got our licences through in less than 3 weeks and charged less than others we'd been recommended to despite having to make an extra trip to trafico because we had the old pink paper licences instead of the paper counterpart to the photocard bit.

Agree it's a shame when someone lets you down, especially after a recommendation. My husband had difficulty contacting him when he tried to get feedback on the progress of his application, rarely answered his phone or not in the office. At one point my husband had no documents to show Traffico, if he had been stopped, as Mr Bateman had all his paperwork. In the end we had to go elsewhere. Most services rely on recommendations, we won't be using him or others connected to him ever again.

Sounds like this person Nick Bateman should have a right to reply. If he has a conscience, & a reputation to uphold, it would be interesting to hear his side to the story. Or if he doesn't want to, then he should refund the monies paid to him!

Mr Bateman returned my husbands calls, deposit now returned. Still can't work out why he never carried out the process in the first instance. All is well, new licence is in hand and money returned with apology.
