I was traveling to Rojales earlier today and seen 4 guys that fitted this discription strolling down to Rojales on the main road they looked very much like Imigrants these may be the guys they were carrying bags and rucksacks.

Having just bought a holiday apartment a couple of weeks ago, I am following this thread with interest.

I may be being a bit dense but I cant find any topic on the forum which lists emergency contact numbers. I think 112 is our 999 and I presume they ask whether it is fire, ambulance or police you want?? I dont have a clue how to contact the Guardia though. Heaven forbid if we were in an accident, fire or burglary.

Jan, I wondered if it was worth having a sticky on the home page with useful numbers for newbies like me. It could include emergency doctors, dentists etc.

112 is the EU wide emergency number (even works in UK). They ask what service and will put you through to an English speaking (or German, or French or whatever) operator to handle the emergency.

Thank you Jan and Marcliff. I did search all the topics to find them but obviously not hard enough

Marcliff, I thought 112 in the UK was if it was possibly serious but not necessarily an emergency. It has received quite a bit of bad press.

Its a sorry state of affairs when the local Police don't take an interest. However, it is down to yourself to take the responsibility of securing your property. We had a break in opposite ours and the alarm went off. The Guardia came and viewed our CCTV coverage and took the info away. It had 4 guys and their car recorded for future reference. This was in Benijofar and I suppose the response varies from Village to Village. We must all be on the lookout and take note of anything out of the norm. Together, we can rid our streets of these Peasants. As Shaw Taylor used to say ' Keep em peeled '.

Lizzie, I can understand your anger and empathise with your rage but I think it dangerous uploading an image of four people, who may well be innocents and labelling them "a shower of shit".

No, that's 111. 112 is the European emergency number and all countries (including UK) will recognise it as such. Both 999 and 112 in UK are treated the same.
