Non-residents Tax Confusion
Non-residents Tax Confusion
by dottyp53 » Tue Nov 07, 2017 8:32 pm
We are receiving contradictory information regarding non-residents tax.
One source tells us that if we fill in a Modelo 210 (quarterly) to pay income tax on rental income, then we would NOT need to fill in an end-of-year non-residents tax return.
Another source tells us that we WOULD still need to fill in the end-of-year non-residents tax return, but that the return would only cover those days when the property was NOT rented out.
Both sources are accountants. Internet searches also lead to contradictory information.
Does anyone know the answer? Marcliff - you're normally pretty hot on this sort of thing!!!

We use Spanish Tax Forms to do our quarterly rental income forms and according to them we still need to do an annual return to cover the days the property wasnt rented out. The quarterly tax forms are sent by the 20th of the month following each quarter of the current year (i.e 2017 at present) whereas the annual tax return is done for the previous year (i.e. 2016).
I hope this helps

Try SpanishTaxForms, if you Google them you will find their website. They only charge £29.95 per form and are very helpful.

Hi wulliemac1,
Agree with TonTri, SpanishTaxForms are by far the cheapest method to do this if you're not resident in Spain and I found them very responsive. Unfortunately, I can't use them now I've become resident.
