Afternoon tea at the Country Club, Quesada.

Afternoon tea at the Country Club, Quesada.

Postby Jan » Sat Feb 16, 2013 8:15 pm

QUESADA COUNTRY CLUB ( Address - 16 Calle Toledo, Ciudad Quesada) is hosting an "Afternoon Tea" on Thursday 28th February in aid of the Children's Home in Elche, from 1pm until 4.30p.m.

The price is €7.50 per person and Katharine Ralph who is known as "The Queen of Cakes" will be making and serving all the cakes.A raffle will be held during the afternoon tea to raise more funds for The Children’s Home in Elche.

The Country Club Quesada is a collecting point for pasta, rice, tins of tuna and tins of tomatoes. They are asking if you could drop any spare packets or tins that you may have into The Country Club, it will be very welcome as all the basic food goes directly to the children in the home.

Also if you can donate anything suitable to go into a hamper, it will be raffled once a month and the money will go direct to the children. There are no administration costs, everything you donate goes to the children. If you have a suitable large hamper or basket in good condition that is going spare in your cupboard or under-build, please drop it into the Quesada Country Club - The charity would be very pleased to have it rather than buy a new one!

Many thanks for all your kind help.

It sounds a very worthwhile event. From what I have read, the childrens' home is living from hand to mouth - and just survives on donations. Frightening in this day and age.

Hello Sandra,
Yes it certainly does seem a very worthy cause. Hard to believe that in this day and age, and in a civilised country, that this children's home is relying solely on public hand-outs.

I found this Facebook page about a Charity shop selling things for the Elche children's home in Spain - It appears to be on the Lemon Tree Road, in a garage, if I'm correct:

Hi,

Is The Club and the Quesada Country Club the same business or different because I have just looked on google maps and they are next door to one another and similar names.

Thanks

Laura

Hi Laura,

The Country club is almost next door to The Club with just a bowling green in-between. It is confusing being of similar names but they are separate businesses.

When we first came to Quesada we were confused by the "Golf & Country Club" (Marquesa Golf course) and the "Country Club" and now there is also "The Club" which is a relatively new venue compared to the "Country Club". :? :?

Address of The Club

Calle Abedul
Ciudad Quesada
Rojales Alicante 03170 Spain

http://www.theclubquesada.com/ (The Club)

Address of The Country Club

16 Calle Toledo, Cuidad Quesada, 03170 Rojales, Alicante
Club Contact:
Tel: 966 719 160

Surprisingly, I can't find a website for The Country Club

Hope this helps.

Jan.

Thanks Jan, I hadn't realised they were two separate places till until I saw the address of the Club for the afternoon tea and got confused because I had 'google walked' to the country club and I knew it was a different address. Quesada Country Club has a facebook page which I follow and that keeps me updated with what is on. I have not visited either but will probably do so next week when I am over in Quesada.
