Hi Sandra
The caves are supposed to be open every day except Monday & Sunday, from around 11 am to 2.30pm, but reality can be very different....
Generally Carmen, leather worker cave 5 (beside the info cave), is there most days from about 10 am to 2.30 ish.
Marie-Jesus should be there in the info cave (no: 6)every day (except weekends) from 9am to 2.30pm as she is employed by the town hal.
The Sala Mengolero (art gallery cave no:4) is open/can be opened by Marie or Carmen every day they are there.
Ida is there every day in her cave (13) every day & will tell you all the history og the caves - but I'm afraid some of it is made up by her....
Carlos opens his bar many days around midday onwards - but depends on what sort of night he's had the day before! And there's often some event or other going on there on a Sunday lunchtime - e.g. poetry reading etc.
The shell house is dependant on the old guy that owns it & lives there.
Other artists use their caves diffrerent days for workshops - e.g. Santi runs classes on Sat mornings at his no:11
I don't know when the new artist cave resident will have her house open - on bottom road near no 12.
Obviously busiest on the 'arts & crafts encouter' days which are the first Sunday of each month Oct to June - 2nd Saturday evening July - Sept.
So next arts & crafts day will be Sunday 7th February from 11am to 2.30ish.
Map of caves & directions here: http://www.costaart.net/caves.html
Sorry can't help more, I don't own a cave nor am I a member of the caves association and agree they do need more organisation but do my best to push them.
AND make a note of ythe dates of the annual arts weekend there which will be from Fri April 29th to Sunday May 1st this year and will have some great spectacles, music, dance, workshops, etc...

Sorry to have missed you Rob - was probably chatting to someone somewhere...
Hope you helped yourself to some of my 'freebies'. I gave away 8 or 9 of my naked ladies - 2 to an 8 year old Spanish girl who first chose one with her mum & then came back for another.
I don't just paint nudes, but running the only weekly life drawing classes I know of means I do a lot of course!
But my recent commissions have included baby portrait, pet portraits, flamenco dancers, a couple of lions, a fishing boat and a yacht...
Anyway, have made a New Year resolution to post up events regularly :)
