Just come back from the caves where they were inaugurating a new (refurbished) cave house.
Nicely done out with 2 bedrooms, shower/toilet room, lounge, kitchen and cellar & garden where they were handing out nibbles of serrano & olives and selling beers & wine.

BUT a performance artist did a cleansing ceremony for them, the caves and everybody there, by walking round the area naked carrrying a smoking pan of embers in front of her and offering it to everyone before setting fire to a smoke bomb in it to get rid of everyone's impurities and wishing us all a good new year.

I didn't take my camera though, so no photos of her - but no-one even blinked at her being naked.
It is after all your legal right in Spain :)

OK then, here's a picture of her finishing her ritual to burn the evil spirits.
Hope no-one is offended.

When will the caves be open again? Also, is the shell house open to the public this week?
