Emmaus Charity Event

Emmaus Charity Event

Postby Sandra » Tue Aug 28, 2012 1:43 pm

Note to Jan - I have just found details - on another website - of, what I think is a very worthwhile, charity event. The lady concerned has given a contact number, which I can find, if anyone is interested. I just think that it is frightening that things have ended up in such a state, and the charity has to be supported entirely on donations.

Hello my name is Debbie Law and i am here to ask for help in supporting us to raise much needed funds for the Emmaus Childrens Home in Elche Currently there are 28 children in the home and They are really Struggling to even have a basic day to day standard of human living ie bathing, eating, basic hygiene needs met, as all Government funding has been withdrawn and now the children and staff are basically left to fend for themselves. We are holding a funday to raise funds to help cover the basic costs of food toiletries and utility bills. I would like to see if you all could spare anything by way of raffle prizes anything a bottle of something a meal voucher, anything at all from bar owners or other businesses or even a small cash donation. We welcome help from everyone who can give some compassion to these children. We also are in urgent need of bags of rice or pasta or any other dried or tinned food goods. We will arrange for someone to meet to collect the items. The funday is to be held on the 15th of Septmber at the La Campana bar at the Eden urb Guardamar. This will be an amazing day and we hope you all will give us a helping hand so these children do not have to suffer any more than they already are. Many thanks for your time reading. Please spread the word we really need all the help we can get, many many thanks debbie xxx

Hello everyone in sunny Quesada,

Just re-posting this event as a reminder. It seems such a good cause - I do hope it gets the support it needs.

There are more details here - From the Coastrider.net on-line newspaper : http://www.coastrider.net/news/local-news/18116-emaus-charity-funday
