The Fiesta of Romeria de San Isidro - Rojales May 2013

There are Fiesta celebrations for the PILGRIMAGE OF SAN ISIDRO in Rojales, from the 17th TO 19th May 2013 and most of the activities are held in the El Rocorral park.

As is tradition, hundreds of residents and visitors travel to the park of El Recorral for the celebrations and events.

Rojales Town Hall has prepared a varied programme of events for the three days of the Pilgrimage.

This traditional Pilgrimage is apparently one of the biggest celebrations held by the people of Rojales to show appreciation to the farmers for their dedication to the land.

Traditionally, on the first day, the throne of San Isidro leaves the village carried on the shoulders of farmers, with music and floats following behind, to spend the day in the countryside and returns late afternoon. The celebrations continue into the weekend.
