Hi All,

Below is the details of the Immaculate Conceptions Fiesta I found on http://www.downloadmytravelguide.com. I am coming over on 30th November for 5 days so hopefully will catch some of it.

Torrevieja will be celebrating the Immaculate Conception from the 25th November to the 8th December. The programme is a mixture of parades, paella contests, concerts, religious services, flower offerings and song and dance performances.
Friday 25th November
20:00 Inauguration of Fiesta in the Parroquia Arciprestal de la Inmaculada Concepción.
Saturday 26th November
20:00 Proclamation and Coronation of the 'Queen of the Salt 2012' at the Teatro Auditorio Municipal.
Sunday 27th November
19:30 Mass
Friday 2nd December
12:00 Migas competition in the Carpa del Recinto de Fiestas at the port
17:45 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads from the Plaza de la Constitucion.
Saturday 3rd December
12:30 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads from the Plaza de la Constitucion.
17:00 Flower Offering Parade from the Plaza de Oriente to the Plaza de la Constitucion
20:00 Inauguration of the Nativity Exhibition in the square, the display will remain until the 7th January
21:30 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads
22:00 Living Circus: music, dance, animation and acrobatics in the Carpa Ferial del recinto at the port.
Sunday 4th December
11:00 Santa Barbara Procession from the Centro Asturiano to the Church de la Inmaculada, followed by a sung mass at the church
13:00 Bagpipe Concert at the Centro Arciprestal de la Inmaculada Concepción.
12:30 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads
16:30 Children’s Parade from the Plaza de la Constitucion to the Centro Cultural Virgen del Carmen.
19:30 Celebration of the Eucharist, sung by the choir and orchestra Maestro Ricardo Lafuente in the Church of the Immaculate Conception.
20:30 Live music by Nipples, Jonathan Pons and Sun Beat Under in the Carpa del Recinto Ferial at the port.
Monday 5th December
12:30 & 17:45 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads
22:30 Live music by the Duo Dinamico in the Carpa del Recinto Ferial at the port
Tuesday 6th December
09:00 Paella Competition in the Carpa del Recinto Ferial at the port accompanied by various activities like karaoke.
12:30 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads
14:00 Mascletas day fireworks at the Carpa del Recinto Ferial.
18:00 9th Poetry Competition in honour of the Immaculate Conception at the Templo Arciprestal de la Inmaculada Concepción.
20:30 Live music from the Quique Montes, Roberto Nunca Viene, Synthesis, Beat Under Sun in the Carpa del Recinto Ferial at the port.
Wednesday 7th December
12:30 & 17:45 Parade of Lyly and the Giants and Big Heads
22:30 Live music from HUECCO and the Son de Nadie in the Carpa del Recinto Ferial at the port.
Thursday 8th December
07:00 Traditional Diana
12:00 Solemn celebration of the Eucharist at the church of the Immaculate Conception Arciprestal.
18:30 Mass followed by a procession including the image of the Virgin that stops beside the casino during the firework display.
