Hi if you are buying the property outright with no rent to pay it will be freehold, in Spain it leasehold is normaly when you are efectively renting for a period of no more than 10 years (Traspaso)

Regardless of what has been said on here make sure you get an answer from your solicitor
I have been selling property here for over 40 years and you need to make sure exactly what you are buying before you get to the notary
