Checking Car Registration / Year

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope everyone is in good health and in good spirits.

I am thinking of purchasing a second hand car from a so say reputable garage, is there a way of checking the year advertised on the car against the vehicle registration ?.

Help would be very much appreciated.

Well you could ask to see the car documents but that's not always correct but you could also check the manufactured date of the window glass but again they could have been changed

Found a site called 'CARCHECKSPAIN' Cost €25 for a really comprehensive report, everthing and more you would want to know about the history of the vehicle. would well recommend, best €25 I have spent in a long long time, except the flowers I buy my wife every week.....

Does the check give you the date of vehicle manufacture as well as registration

Hi freddo it gives the year of vehicle manufacture but not month with year and month of registration.

Scubydo have you seen one of these reports as I have been on the site and there is nothing about checking the actual year of manufacturer and I know that a few dealers are importing cars from Holland and declaring them as younger than they actually are also they have been Taxies

Hi freddo I have just checked an the one I have is the Total Car Check I think it was cheper than the carcheckspain. and gave good info

But did it give yr of Manufacturer

The year of manufacture is within the Vin No and its usually the 10th digit
