Postby Jamie2589 » Sat Aug 06, 2016 4:50 pm

hello we are a family of 5 with 3 children under the age of 9. We are looking at moving to Quesada area as we love it. have jobs lined up but now need to look for schools. already aware of the education system in Spain and want the children to go in to a Spanish local school, as they already speck abit of Spanish

Dose anyone know of any local schools near this area? any comments on what they are like? how easy to book to look round and register children?

Would be very grateful for any info and if anyone knows of local kids classes, dancing, cheer, gymnastic etc would also love info on this too.

Thanks Jamie :-)

Hi,

The local school for children in Quesada is Rojales. They will get the school bus if you live in the Quesada or Dona Pepa area. School hours are 9 - 12.30 LUNCH 3 - 4.30 There is an option for the children to stay at the school for the lunch break (This is called comedor) or you collect them.

New Children have to be registered by the previous May, so you would have to contact them. If you speak no Spanish you will need to take an interpreter with you.

To register your child you will need a padron, sip card, family book, last school report, a health certificate from doctor & passport copies.

There are various clubs in the area for children such as Dance, Martial arts, Football, Tennis, Swimming....

Hi Jamie....Ive tried to reply by email but my emails keep getting returned.

Registration in May is just the way the schools do it out here, doesn't mean you cant get them in come September. When the school opens again which will be start of September you will need to go in and see the secretary...if you do not speak
Spanish, you WILL need to take a translator as he speaks no English at all!

A padron is obtained from your local town hall, it is to prove you live at the your address and registers you in the community. You will need passport copies and a rental agreement/house deeds to apply for one.

There are various clubs in the area for children such as dance, football, tennis, martial arts...etc and a few language schools to help children with Spanish.

Hope this helps!
