I seem to be able to get everything in Spain that I could get in the UK...apart from family of course

What I don´t get as much is... wet.. stress, the frantic pace of life, the prices, the politics, the crowds, the clouds..

I do miss bird song though..

There really isn't anything that you can't buy in Spain these days. When we first came it was hard to get many things that we buy in the UK but in the last 10 years or so the variety and prices have come on leaps and bounds.
The only thing I miss personally is sliced bread like Kingsmill 50/50 or Hovis best of both at a decent price like 75 to 80p a loaf as in the UK (Lidls price)
As I'm not there permanently it isn't a big problem as I can get it but it's expensive in comparison (at least twice the price or more). I often use the Spanish sliced bread (integral) but I'm not that keen on it. I can get a similar type UK bread but a different brand in Johnsons at around 2.50€. That is honestly all I miss, so really no hardship.

We even have Bird song in the Lo Marabu area in the very early morning so don't miss that.

Thanks but I don't want a bloomer. I find the consum feshly cooked white baguettes and bread are the best around for my white fix..lol. I just like the British 50/50 sliced bread for toast and sandwiches sometimes.

Like Jan, when we first got here we found lots of things we couldn't get. Now, over the years, more and more items are becoming available. Furniture and white goods have come down dramatically (I remember buying a "cheap" fridge with a little freezer on top that cost over €400). We used to get our bread from Gama or Iceland as Spanish bread was quite sweet and didn't last very long. Now, though, Consum and Mercadona own brands (white, brown, seeded and so on) are much better and, at about 90 cents a large loaf, extremely good value. Lidl have increased their range since they moved buildings although their "packaged" bread is still a bit on the sweet side.
The only thing I miss here, in Quesada particularly, is a good public transport system. Rumours of a train station being built by Los Montesinos seems to have been wishful thinking.

Even a regular bus service which went around Quesada and the surrounding areas of Rojales, Dona Pepa and Pueblo Bravo would be very handy.
