El Moncayo Beach

El Moncayo Beach

Postby glen.monks » Mon May 15, 2017 3:26 pm

2 Things. Parked there Friday on the road to the beach on the LHS. A Thief had jammed down the windows and accessed the boot. There were scratches on the window. Luckily it was one of those rare occasions i took the all inclusive insurance. So be careful leaving valuables in car there. Also does any one know why the car parking area is blocked off and inaccessible? I can imagine it will be mayhem soon down there of they dont open it up.

Sorry to hear this. A good idea when parking in beach areas and other possibly dodgy places is to move the cover off the boot so it can be seen that the boot is empty. Obviously never leave anything in the car...our friends left an empty carrier bag on the back seat which must have puckered up and looked like there was something in it and their window was broken to access the car - Nothing taken but inconvenient to get it back to the hire car place to be fixed.

If the car is a hire one - remove their sticker.

It's a plain sign saying "valuable in here" I think to any low life

Does anyone keep the sticker on these days? It's a well known fact that hire car stickers attract theives! Most decent car hire companies shouldn't even be putting them on in the first place.
Years ago when all hire companies had them, I used to peel it off put it on the underside of the boot lid and stick it back on the window when handing the car back. In the USA,particularly in high crime areas, they banned stickers on hire cars years ago.

Just travelled back from Northern Spain, past Girona, Barcelona, Reus, Valencia and Alicante airports; From every one we followed hire cars with stickers in their rear windows. Perfect advert for the lowlife. Plus a "get past me quick" advert for my OH!
