Has anyone travelled to Spain by train?

Has anyone travelled to Spain by train?

We are coming over next month by train-eurostar to Paris, TGV to Barcelona then on to Alicante.
Just wondered if anyone else has done this? wondering if luggage is weighed anywhere? Any tips on getting across Paris from gare du nord to gare de lyon? Any restrictions on tools in luggage as we want to bring out a basic tool set.

The metro system would be the cheapest and probably easiest way to get between stations. You can get tickets at the machines at Gare de Nord and price will be dependant on the zone/s. Have a great trip!

Hello nikki&graham,

Please let us know how you get on. This sounds great fun, would love to travel there this way one day so will be very interested in your journey.
As for luggage, I know there are restrictions on Eurostar as to how many cases but it's all on their website. I was looking at it the other day as we are off to Ypres next month and they have lists of items that are not allowed to be carried in luggage, similar to when flying. I seem to remember that they xrayed our bags last time we went on Eurostar. The website list doesn't mention tools but certain size blades are restricted (which could possibly include large screwdrivers??).
Good luck with your trip.
