MONEY EXCHANGE RATES-UPDATE

MONEY EXCHANGE RATES-UPDATE

Postby prefect » Sun Oct 29, 2017 7:30 am

I recently requested help and advice on the best companies for money exchange from the UK to Euro.
The advice I received was varied and sometimes confusing ...so..
I decided to check out the claims and promises of the advertised top 12 companies operating in the Uk.
I won't bore you with the full list, I never used 1 company against another and discovered the best offers were from a company
FAIR FX.. They gave me the best rate were very informative and the several £K transferred was in my bank here in 3 hours.
The total cost of their transaction was 37 euros which was deducted from the money transferred.
I telephoned them to thank them for their efficiency and was informed that they have a special private fund, that if any of my friends/family mentioned my name when applying for a transfer they would receive a cash supplement that would reduce their transfer fee
email me if you want any further details

Hi we have used FairFx and found them exellent, did you try Transferwise as recently we did a similar thing and they won the day for us! on small and large amounts they have just reduced the charges and transfers usualy take around 2 hours can not fault them.

Be aware when sending large amounts some banks charge for the privilege ia Caxia bank you get charged for anything over 25,000 euros comming into your account Sabbadel Do Not charge! so better to ask them. Just our exprience.

Easy fx. They are happy to give small transfers the same rate as very big one. On 8000 euro they quoted 1.1109 when the exchange rate was 1.1188.

TRANSFER WISE is ALWAYS the best exchange rate. Today’s rate is €1.1309 (Bloomberg)
TransferWise are offering €1.1307
Fair. Fx are offering €1.1190
Fair Fx are giving €11,190 for £10000
TransferWise are giving €11,266 for £10000 (extra €76)
Not a big amount, but better in your pocket.

Some companies have no charges at your receiving bank in Spain. Depends on how quickly you want your funds transferred. Same day usually has charges but if you can wait 3 to 5 days normally free.

The best rate is with Transfer Wise , in your bank in 2 hours , costs only £2.50 per transaction , I transfer money every month and they have always been the cheapest to date .

I have just returned from a brief visit to the UK where I bank with Nationwide. I went in to a branch to make enquiries about what was the cheapest way to transfer money and was told that there is a relatively new method called SEPA. I will be trying this out as the total cost of a transfer is £9

Thanks for the feedback. You don't say how much you transferred, but to have beaten TransferWise, you would have needed to transfer at least Eu 10,000.
